The Wave Breath exercises the respiratory, circulatory, digestive, muscular & endocrine systems. In this exercise we use our intentional control of breathing to activate and motivate our breathing muscles to a greater degree than is usually normal. The steps are: 1- breathe deeply through the nose with the belly muscles; 2- continuing inhaling through the nose using the chest muscles; 3- loooong "letting go" exhaling through the mouth; repeat. This Wave Breathing can be gradually increased from a few minutes once to several times per day, to 20'-30 min. 1-3X per day. We start out gradually, in most cases, to acclimate oneself to enhanced vitality, which may upset or stimulate overwhelming feelings, due to the body's habitual poor breathing habits and low vitality... Regular daily practice can: release chronic tension in breathing muscles, reduce levels of depression and anxiety, reduce the negative effects of chronic stress, facilitate emotional purging, enhance circulatory system's function, and MUCH MORE!
